Tired but got a normal thyroid hormone level?

Although tiredness is the most well-known symptom of having an underactive thyroid; there are lots of other causes of thyroid and it is important to exclude the others such as diabetes and anaemia. Being reviewed by an experienced physician will ensure that all the medical causes are excluded.

Being treated for low thyroid but still not feeling “well”?

Most patients go on to Levothyroxine and feel much better, but there are a few people who are treated with thyroxine but still do not feel well. This can be because they have another illness associated with being low thyroid or they may benefit from combination therapy with T3 and T4. Whatever the cause it is important to be treated by an experienced physician who has the time and the knowledge to get your symptoms better.

Hyperthyroid (overactive thyroid)

  •  nodule – nodule within the thyroid is overactive
